Maritime Surface Effects
"We are running an enabling contract for MOD Research Acquisition Organisation to lead the delivery of the Maritime Surface Effects research programme for MOD Defence Equipment capability (Above Water Effects). The work involved will be instrumental in shaping naval thinking over the next 20 years."
How we helped
CORDA is the prime contractor for the programme responsible for programme management, technical assurance, military benefit analysis, exploitation and communications.
Who we worked with
CORDA has assembled an industrial consortium to deliver the research programme comprising more than 50 leading UK companies and academic institutions involved in maritime research.
Outcome
The programme is investigating and demonstrating novel concepts in the areas of:
- Technology assessment and maturation for defensive and offensive surface warfare.
- Military benefit assessment of coastal suppression options.
- The impact of network enabled capability on surface warfare.
- Operator involvement in effects-based surface warfare operations.
- Unmanned Surface Vehicles.
The technology and concepts developed through the programme will be exploited to provide optimum benefit to UK naval operations.

Useful Insight
- The ability to deploy best athlete suppliers to address MOD issues.
- Providing an inclusive management approach to develop and deliver structured research outputs.
