"We have provided analytical and project management expertise to DEC(UWE) through the enabling agreement placed in 2004. The team has given on-site capability management support using innovative methods and bespoke tools designed to provide rapid, objective input to the DEC's decision-making process. CORDA has pioneered the use of a risk-based approach to capability management, which has been applied in support of a number of equipment programmes and Capability Audit 2005."

- We have developed the suite of dynamic analytic risk models to inform equipment Balance of Investment decisions.
- Provided project management of numerous stakeholders to ensure the delivery of Capability Audit 2005.
- Developed the maritime campaign risk methodology, linking defence policy to individual capability requirements.

The work was undertaken for DEC (UWE) in partnership with Dstl, QinetiQ and Customer 2 including FLEET and the Maritime Warfare Centre.
Outcome
- We provided a robust, traceable Capability Audit 2005.
- Enabled the setting of objective, policy- driven capability requirements.
- The risk-based approach has now been used to support individual equipment procurement decisions.
